Modalities
This year, our underwater hockey championship is proud to introduce two exciting competition formats: Mixed and Female. Aiming to foster diversity and inclusion in this vibrant sport, we want to ensure that all athletes, regardless of gender, have the opportunity to compete, learn, and enjoy.
Mixed Modality
Continuing our tradition, we will carry on with our mixed competition, where teams of men and women will compete together in an environment of mutual respect and sportsmanship. This format promotes equality and teamwork, showcasing the talent and skill of all players in the water.
Female Modality
In an effort to highlight and support female talent in underwater hockey, we are launching a completely female-only competition for the first time this year. This new focus seeks to offer a space where women can compete at the highest level, thereby promoting greater visibility and opportunities within the sport.
Our female championship will run parallel to the mixed competition, allowing players to choose to participate in both formats if they wish. We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment, where all athletes can shine.
Why a Female-Only Championship? We strongly believe in the power of sport to drive change and equality. By offering a dedicated competition for women, we hope to inspire more players to join underwater hockey, fostering a spirit of community and empowerment. This approach not only celebrates the skills and achievements of women in sport but also sets an important precedent for the future of underwater hockey.

Whether you prefer the dynamics of mixed play or wish to dive into the intensity of the female-only competition, there is a place for you in our event. We are proud to invite you to the XXIII Internacional UWH Open Barcelona-Ciutat de Sant Adrià. Let’s play together again! And if you have missed it these last 3 years … don’t make the same mistake again! The pool is indoors but with access to an outside area, perfect to enjoy the summer sun or rest between games. After the tournament, the dinner & party will take place. The last years we had a great time at night, so don’t miss it!! Furthermore, on Sunday you can enjoy exploring Barcelona 🙂And ladies, do not forget that if we are enough teams we will include a women’s league in the tournament.

How Does It Work?
- Sign Up Individually: Complete our individual registration form. Don’t worry about not having a team; we’ve got that covered!
- We Will Find You a Team: Our organizing committee will work diligently to match you with a team in need of players. Our priority is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate in a competitive and supportive environment.
- Compete: Once assigned to a team, you will contact your new teammates.
